Position Title: Multimedia Instructional Designer, Training Development

Job Description

The Multimedia Instructional Designer for WebEx designs, develops, and maintains self-paced instructional materials for use by WebEx customers. These web-based materials provide a foundation of understanding for the use of WebEx services, and are available to customers wanting instruction without having to attend an instructor-led training class. The successful candidate is familiar with self-paced instructional methods and has experience using development tools in the creation of such materials.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Create storyboards, write audio scripts and coordinate the recording of the audio for use in the modules
  • Assemble the modules and work with cross-functional persons to perform QA on them prior to release
  • Work as required with localization staff for translation of materials into other languages, and provide project leadership as needed to successfully complete development and localization activities
  • Identify areas to improve development efficiencies and work with team to implement
  • Adapt materials to accommodate multiple platforms, products, and releases
  • Conduct needs assessment and course evaluations as required
  • Maintain templates and style guides, and document procedures

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience developing technology-based training in a software development environment for Windows, Mac, and/or UNIX operating systems
  • Demonstrated expertise in Flash, PhotoShop, and Dream weaver
  • 1-2 years experience with HTML and scripting
  • Project management skills working with both internal and external resources and customers
  • Highly motivated and team oriented
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of databases, SQL, and ASP or equivalent technology highly desirable
  • Understanding of Instructional Design methods and Adult Learning Theory desired
  • BA or equivalent
  • Fluent in Spanish
