Effective Listening Skills Workshop


When was the last time you believed that you were not getting your point across or that someone was just not listening to you? Well, you’re not alone. We are all interacting one way or another at work but we may we may not be communicating clearly to get our points across.

 

Today’s work environment is filled with the complexities of diversity, deadlines, meetings and many more demands. All of these things can lead to stress that may be compounded when there is not a clear line of communication. Simply hearing what someone is telling you is not enough. Effective Listening Skills is a one-day course that will give you the skills to strategically listen and become an active listener.

 

On-Site Training: can be tailored to the needs of client organization and delivered on-site at time and location of client choice.

 

Objectives:

Participants will learn to:

  • The Fundamentals of Strategic Listening

  • Hearing and Listening are not synonymous

  • The relationship between Active and Strategic Listening

  • The Business Case for Strategic Listening

  • Framing your Listening Behavior by being able to determine your own behavior style as well as how to determine the behavior style of your audience

  • How to recognize the effects of the silent communication of your body

  • and your Environment

  • The four key components of the Strategic Listening process, which are hearing, interpreting evaluating, and responding

  • The disastrous “Don’ts” of Strategic Listening
