Yoichi, Senior Trainer
Yoichi, a native of Japan, specializes in globalizing
training and development programs across cultures,
facilitating communication and teambuilding workshops and
developing organizational cultures.
With his 20 years of career as an instructional designer and
trainer of communication skills training for business
professionals, he has designed, developed and delivered
business communication skills training programs such as
negotiation and business presentation in the US, Japan, the
Philippines and India. At Fuji Xerox in Japan, for example,
he developed and delivered Negotiating with North
Americans for Japanese clients whereas he delivered a
number of Negotiating with Japanese workshops for
clients such as Motorola in the US. Furthermore, for Procter
& Gamble Asia Pacific employees, he designed, developed and
delivered Negotiating Across Cultures, Conflict
Resolution and Business Presentation workshops.
Yoichi has a Master’s degree in speech communication
and has taken online courses on Web design and
Internet-based instruction to meet increasing needs to
assist clients in e-learning initiatives. He is known
internationally in the cross-cultural field for his work on
verbal and nonverbal communication characteristics across
cultures. He wrote with his associates "The Binding of
Culture: Nonverbal Dimensions of Credibility in Structured
Learning Situations" in Cross-Cultural Perspectives in
Nonverbal Communication and has conducted workshops on
intercultural training and consulting at the International
Society of Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR)
conferences. He has been a member of the American Society of
Training and Development since 1998.
