One-Time Negotiations Workshop

What if you are not negotiating with a valued business partner? What if you aren’t seeking to build or preserve a relationship that will continue for years to come? What if you only want to get the best agreement you can and never look back, because you have no need to revisit this negotiation situation in the future? Is engaging in a one-time negotiation – the purchase of a house or a car, or the hiring of a contractor to complete one specific job, for instance – any different than more complex, collaborative negotiations?

The answer is “yes” and “no.” To help you sort it all out we created our one-day One-Time Negotiations class. While it is true that preserving future relationships may not be very important in a one-time negotiation, maintaining a constructive relationship during the negotiation is essential for success. Our professional negotiations instructors will assist you in learning how to create an effective strategy during the negotiation and coach you through a proven process for discussing and bargaining that will keep your negotiation on track until you reach a successful, satisfying conclusion, once and for all.

On-Site Training: can be tailored to the needs of client organization and delivered on-site at time and location of client choice.

Objectives:

Participants will learn to:

  • Develop an effective plan and strategy for any negotiation.

  • Maintain respect and cooperation with the other party during the negotiation.

  • Understand behaviors styles in order to communicate more effectively.

  • Uncover interests and issues in order to avoid getting bogged down in unnecessary positions.

  • Neutralize manipulative tactics.

  • Minimize conflicts and deadlocks during the bargaining process.
