The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York has asked that Baker Communications provide time management training for its students. The Sophie Davis School was in need of a training partner who could provide a weekend training session on time management for students on a medical career track. Time management is a critical skill both during the student years and when practicing in the medical and healthcare fields.

A Baker Senior Level Training Instructor and Time Management Specialist will deliver the workshop for Sophie Davis students. Participants in this highly interactive Time Management workshop will gain expertise with important time management skills such as organization, prioritizing, and tying activities to goals, as well as eliminating time wasting activities, thereby increasing their work productivity and improving study habits. Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to complete Baker‘s unique time management audit prior to training. The audit is used to help participants understand how they are spending their time and where improvements are needed, facilitating immediate adjustments and improvements in their time management after being introduced to the concepts and techniques in the Baker workshop.

About the Sophie Davis School

Founded at City College in 1973, The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education was founded to recruit underrepresented minorities into medicine, increase medical services in historically underserved areas, and increase the availability of primary care physicians. Sophie Davis offers two unique and challenging programs leading to careers in medicine: the innovative five-year BS-MD Program integrates undergraduate education with the first two years of medical school. Students graduate with a BS degree from City College and move on to complete their final two years towards the M.D. in one of six cooperating medical schools – Albany Medical College, Dartmouth Medical School, New York Medical College, NYU School of Medicine, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine. The Physician Assistant (PA) Program is a 28-month upper division program leading to a BS degree and certification as a Physician Assistant. It was one of the first baccalaureate degree-granting physician assistant programs in the country.
