NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has requested International Negotiations training from Baker Communications for IT Solutions Representatives in its Jet Propulsion Laboratory facilities.  NASA has worked with Baker for previous training needs, and continued this partnership in the knowledge that Baker‘s negotiations course content and experienced professional trainers could equip their IT representatives with the skills to more effectively manage international negotiations.

A Baker International Negotiations Senior Level Training Instructor will travel to Pasadena, California to lead the workshop at JPL. IT solutions representatives attending this highly interactive negotiations training class will learn and practice recognizing a number of negotiation styles, strategies and tactics, learning methods that will prove useful in staying one step ahead in any negotiating situation. Participants in this international negotiations training event will also gain knowledge of concession strategies, planning, and setting expectations, as well as techniques and strategies for effectively negotiating across national and cultural divisions.

About NASA and the JPL

NASA's mission is to pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research. NASA conducts its work in four principal organizations, called mission directorates:

  • Aeronautics: pioneers and proves new flight technologies that improve our ability to explore and which have practical applications on Earth.
  • Exploration Systems: creates capabilities for sustainable human and robotic exploration.
  • Science: explores the Earth, solar system and universe beyond; charts the best route of discovery; and reaps the benefits of Earth and space exploration for society.
  • Space Operations: provides critical enabling technologies for much of the rest of NASA through the space shuttle, the International Space Station and flight support.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is a federally funded research and development facility managed by the California Institute of Technology for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). From the roar of pioneering Space Age rockets to the soft whir of servos on 21st century robot explorers on Mars, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory‘s spacecraft have blazed the trail to the planets and the universe beyond for more than 50 years.
