Paget Alves, President of the Business Markets Group for Sprint Nextel, recently joined Baker CEO Walter Rogers weekly segment on CBS Radio. Alves and Rogers discussed best practices for tapping in to the leadership potential of high performing, "maverick" sales performers.
Alves emphasized the importance of bringing high-performers on board early during the planning and implementation phase of any new sales initiative and leveraging their status with the rest of the team to help drive adoption across the group. The idea of leveraging "sales tension" was introduced as a key component for driving sales transformation and organizational change.

"It was an honor to be able to share the microphone with Paget," explained Rogers. "He is one of the top innovators in his field, and his vision for and commitment to equipping sales managers to help their teams drive revenue through better coaching methods and leveraging salesforce.com will deliver exceptional results. We are excited to partner with Sprint Nextel to institutionalize this process."
"We are working with Baker Communications," said Alves, during the show. "They have been very successful at bringing poor performing teams back to the point where they have become top performers, and that kind of reversal is critical to all of us if we want a successful sales team."
Sprint Nextel is currently engaged with Baker Communications in a series of sales enablement initiatives aimed at driving revenue and sales performance while leveraging salesforce.com as the collaboration platform.
