The Aga Khan Foundation, a private non-profit agency working against poverty, hunger, illiteracy and ill-health in rural and resource-poor areas, has asked that Baker Communications to provide effective business writing training for their writing team. The Foundation was seeking assistance for some of their writers and was pleased to learn that Baker could provide on-site training for their entire team. Bakers Effective Business Writing workshop will help AKFs writing staff develop a professional, polished business writing style and avoid common errors and missteps.
A Senior Level Baker Instructor and Effective Business Writing Expert meet with the AKF writing team in Washington, D.C. to deliver the workshop. During this comprehensive training program, participants will learn and practice essential business writing skills such as the use of planning and Purpose Statements to focus their message, and the Six Cs of Editing to ensure that their writing is clear, complete, concise, concrete, confirmed, and correct. Workshop attendees will be given an overview of various writing styles and guidelines for proper business writing etiquette. The course materials also include a review of basic grammar, spelling and punctuation rules that will help participants to avoid missteps and render their written communications more polished and professional.

About the Aga Khan Foundation
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a private, not-for-profit,
non-denominational, development agency. It is part of the Aga
Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of eight institutions
working in health, education, culture and rural and economic
development.
AKF seeks sustainable solutions to long-term problems of
poverty, hunger, illiteracy and ill-health with special emphasis
on the needs of rural communities in mountainous, coastal and
other resource-poor areas. AKF focuses on a small number of
specific development problems by forming intellectual and
financial partnerships with organizations sharing its
objectives. Most Foundation grants are made to grassroots
organizations testing innovative approaches in the field. With a
small staff, a host of cooperating agencies and thousands of
volunteers, the Foundation reaches out to vulnerable populations
on four continents, irrespective of their race, religion,
political persuasion or gender.
